The Gelovani family has a winemaking history dating back to the 19th century, and they are particularly known for working with the rare and indigenous grape varieties of their specific mountain terroir. The "Whisperer" label is typically associated with their Saperavi or Saperavi-Budeshuri blends, though it represents a very specific stylistic approach within their portfolio. The Gelovani family focuses on micro-terroir. While most Saperavi in the world comes from the hot plains of Kakheti, the "Whisperer" reflects the high-altitude, limestone-rich soils of Racha.
