Weingut Martin Furst Elbling Dry

Sale price$18.00

The Weingut Fürst Elbling Dry Liter is a quintessential "porch pounder" from the Obermosel (Upper Mosel) region of Germany. Made by Michael Fürst, whose family has farmed this land since the 13th century, this wine celebrates Elbling—an ancient grape planted by the Romans that was once the most common variety in Germany before Riesling took the throne. Often described as the "Teutonic answer to Muscadet," this wine is all about high energy and razor-sharp freshness. The nose is clean and bright with delicate notes of green apple, lemon zest, and a hint of white blossoms or wet stones. Light-bodied and bone-dry, it is famous for its "jazzy" and "electric" feel, driven by a rapier-like acidity (roughly 7.5g/l). Expect flavors of tart orchard fruit and a distinct briny minerality. With low alcohol, typically around 10.5% ABV, this can be an easily sessionable wine.
