Voštinić-Klasnić Epitet is a distinct red blend from the Moslavina region in continental Croatia — a part of the country that most wine lovers have never heard of, producing wines that consistently surprise people who try them. While the winery is most famous for championing the indigenous white grape Škrlet, Epitet represents their mastery of international varieties adapted to the unique microclimate of their rolling hills near Ivanić-Grad.

The Producer — Voštinić-Klasnić, Moslavina

Moslavina is continental Croatia’s most intriguing wine region — a “Bordeaux-like” microclimate of rolling hills, distinct seasons, and soils that give Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon a freshness and elegance that the Dalmatian heat cannot. A family operation committed to minimal intervention and genuine terroir expression.

Tasting Notes

Quite aromatic and spicy on the nose: dark fruit of blackberry and plum, Turkish spices, and subtle herbal hints of bell pepper typical of the Cabernet family. On the palate, fruity and smooth with ripe red fruit flavours. Tannins present but well-integrated, providing structure without aggression.

How to Serve

Serve at 16–18°C. No decanting needed, though 20 minutes of air brings out the spice. Drink now or hold 3–5 years.

Food Pairing

Grilled meats, roast beef, mushroom dishes, mature hard cheese. The spice and dark fruit make it excellent with anything that has depth and savour.
