Tschida Stockkultur Ungefiltert 2021

Sale price$115.00

Grape Pinot Noir (unfiltered)
Producer Christian Tschida
Region Burgenland, Austria
Vintage 2021
Farming Old-vine estate, 4 generations since 19th century
Method Foot-stomped, long barrel aging, unfiltered, minimal sulfur

Stockkultur refers to a traditional Austrian vine training system using individual wooden stakes — labour-intensive, old-fashioned, and producing wines of extraordinary character. Ungefiltert means unfiltered, which this wine most certainly is. Christian Tschida’s Pinot Noir from old-vine Burgenland fruit, foot-stomped, aged for multiple years in barrel with no filtration and minimal sulfur, is among the most serious and personal expressions of Pinot Noir made in Austria.

Tasting Notes

Pinot Noir with the depth, oxidative complexity, and specific mineral character that long barrel aging and old vines produce. This is not a Burgundy copy — it is distinctly Austrian, distinctly Burgenland, distinctly Tschida. Complex, serious, and age-worthy.

How to Serve

Decant for one hour. Serve at 16–17°C. The wine for a special occasion with no corkage charge.
