Malvazija Istriana — the Malvasia of Istria — is the signature white grape of the Istrian Peninsula, shared between Slovenia and Croatia and producing wines of a specific coastal mineral character that reflects the limestone terrain and the Adriatic proximity. It is aromatic and fresh, with a saline mineral note that distinguishes it from Malvasia grown anywhere else.
Rodica’s expression is a natural wine in the truest sense: minimal intervention, genuine expression of the Istrian terroir, and the kind of freshness and specificity that only comes from grapes grown in the right place and handled with respect.
Tasting Notes
Pale golden, aromatic, and coastal in character. White flowers, citrus, stone fruit, and the specific saline mineral quality of Istrian limestone. Crisp, clean, and enormously refreshing. A wine for immediate pleasure.
How to Serve
Serve cold at 8–10°C. Open and pour. The wine for the table, not the glass.
Food Pairing
Grilled fish, seafood, Istrian fuzi pasta, prosciutto, truffles, fresh white cheese. The white wine of the Adriatic coast.
