Aero means “air” in Esperanto — a nod to Ploder-Rosenberg’s unique naming system. This orange wine from the Vulkanland Steiermark region of Austria is fermented and aged in clay amphora with a long period of skin contact, producing a beautiful, hazy orange colour and a subtle tannic structure. Vulkanland Steiermark — volcanic wine country in southeastern Austria — produces whites of intense mineral character from volcanic basalt soils.
Tasting Notes
Complex and mineral-driven, with notes of exotic fruit, orange zest, honey, and herbs. The wine’s vibrant acidity and distinct texture make it a versatile food pairing wine with real aging potential. Seven years from the vintage, this is drinking beautifully now.
How to Serve
Serve at 14–16°C. Open 30 minutes before serving. A large-bowled glass helps the aromatics develop.
Food Pairing
Charcuterie, aged hard cheese, roast pork, spiced dishes, mushrooms. The tannin and texture handle rich, savoury food with ease.
