Opok is the name for the specific marl-limestone soil type of South Styria — a crumbly, mineral-rich rock that drains well and gives wines from this region their characteristic lightness and freshness. Maria and Sepp Muster’s estate works these soils biodynamically, producing whites of genuine mineral purity. The Opok white is their most accessible expression: a blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling, and Gelber Muskateller that shows what Opok soils do to white wine.
Tasting Notes
