Lauverjat Sancerre Rosé

Sale price$36.00

Domaine Karine Lauverjat Sancerre Rosé is a refined, salmon-colored wine that represents the small but prestigious production of Rosé in the Sancerre region (where about 90% of the wine is white). While Lauverjat is famous for their Sauvignon Blanc, this wine showcases their mastery of Pinot Noir. Unlike many pale rosés that are made by direct pressing, Lauverjat often utilizes the saignée ("bleeding") method. Pinot Noir grapes are placed in a tank, and after a short period of skin contact (usually less than 24 hours), a portion of the juice is "bled off." This technique creates a Rosé with slightly more color intensity and a more "serious" fruit structure than your average patio pink.  You’ll find crunchy red fruit flavors balanced by a distinct salinity and the classic "chalky" mineral backbone that defines Sancerre terroir.
