Lauverjat Pouilly-Fumé
Domaine Karine Lauverjat Pouilly-Fumé is a quintessential expression of Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley. While the Lauverjat family is based in Sancerre (specifically the village of Sury-en-Vaux), they produce this wine from vineyards just across the Loire River in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation. Lauverjat’s style is often described as a bridge between the "seriousness" of traditional French winemaking and the vibrant, fruit-forward energy of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It is typically medium-to-full-bodied with a "broad" personality. Expect zesty citrus (grapefruit and lemon peel) balanced by a deep, wet-stone minerality. The finish is long, clean, and succulent, often with a final kick of stony mineral salts.
