Lammidia Rosh Abruzzo Red
Lammidia Rosh is a distinct expression of natural winemaking from the Abruzzo region of Italy. Produced by Davide Gentile and Marco Rapino, the "Rosh" label is known for its energetic, highly drinkable style that defies traditional red wine conventions. It is primarily made from Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes, often blended with a small percentage of Trebbiano d'Abruzzo (a white grape). This co-fermentation of red and white grapes is a signature move for Lammidia, intended to lift the aromatics and lighten the structure. Rosh is crafted using short maceration times which results in a wine that is translucent, low in tannin, and closer to a "dark rosé" or a "chilled red" in weight. The palette is dominated by tart red fruits like pomegranate, wild strawberry, and sour cherry. There is often a savory, saline mineral vein and a touch of "funk" or earthiness typical of natural wines.
