Résilience is released only in certain vintages and comes from old-vine Serine and Syrah planted in 1944 on ultra-steep terraces of sandy granite and gneiss. All vineyard work is done by hand — an athletic endeavour given the pitch of the slope. Two weeks of maceration with whole grapes, zero added sulfites, then one year aging in demi-muids and Spanish tinajas, which soften the tannins while preserving the remarkable terroir character of these ancient vines.
Tasting Notes
An exceptional red wine of genuine complexity. The 1944 vines produce Syrah of extraordinary depth and specificity — granite-driven minerality, dark fruit, floral violet character, and a savoury backbone that keeps the wine energetic over a long finish. Well-balanced, aromatically complex, and genuinely impressive.
How to Serve
Decant for one hour. Serve at 17–18°C. A wine for serious occasions and patient drinkers.
Food Pairing
Roast lamb, venison, duck confit, aged hard cheese. Northern Rhône Syrah demands and deserves serious food.
