La Famille Mosse is one of the Loire Valley’s most sought-after natural wine producers — a family estate in Anjou that has been making wines of precise, terroir-driven character that attract international collectors and natural wine devotees in equal measure. La Joute is their Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc blend: two varieties that don’t often share a bottle but here produce something genuinely compelling.
Tasting Notes
Precise and mineral. The Chenin brings its characteristic tension, waxy texture, and longevity; the Chardonnay provides roundness and aromatic lift. The combination produces a wine that is more than the sum of its parts: structured, specific, and built for the table. One of the better white wines in the shop at any price.
How to Serve
Serve at 12–14°C. Open 20–30 minutes before serving. This wine rewards attention and improves in the glass over an hour.
Food Pairing
Roast chicken with herbs, fish in cream sauce, aged soft cheese, roast pork, mushroom dishes. The Loire Valley is France’s kitchen — this wine goes with everything from that table.
