Kontozisis Clear Skies Fear No Bolts

Kontozisis Clear Skies Fear No Bolts is an energetic, highly compelling natural orange dry wine produced by Andreas Kontozisis and Aphrodite Tousia of Kontozisis Organic Vineyards. Based in the foothills of Mount Agrafa in Karditsa, within the Thessaly region of central Greece, the estate has been a pioneer in certified organic viticulture since 1991.

The cuvée draws its name from a Greek folk phrase signifying absolute purity, a philosophy mirrored directly in the cellar. It is made using a unique blend of white and red grapes vinified separately through a combination of white and skin-contact maceration techniques. Fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and utilizing only free-run juice, the Malagousia portion is aged for two months in egg-shaped concrete tanks to develop layered complexity. The final wine is bottled with zero fining, filtration, or heavy chemical stabilization, and only a minimal dose of sulfur. The resulting profile is a complex, light amber wine showing high-toned notes of orange blossom, honeysuckle, dried apricot, and lemon peel, offset by subtle savory undertones of wild tea, cardamom, and a faint natural prickle.
