Ivica Pilizota Winery Babic 2019

Babić is an indigenous red grape variety grown mostly in Dalmatia, which produces dark, dense and complex wines. The Piližota family brought exceptional quality back to the Babić varietal creating the traditional expression of the wine as it should be! The vineyards are in Primošten, Croatia, the location so stunning, it's being considered as a UNESCO World Heritage site! The wine is aged in stainless steel then 6 months in Slavonian oak in order to soften it up before bottling. On the nose, it's earthy, laced with dark, warm fruit and spices. Aromas of ripe dark fruit, particularly blackberries, blueberries, plums, and figs. The palate is smooth with mouthwatering acidity, gamey, with slight tannins which allow for a gentle finish.
