Gut Oggau is a 13-hectare biodynamic estate located in Burgenland, Austria, by the shores of Lake Neusiedl. Run by Eduard Tscheppe — son of a winemaker — and his wife Stephanie Tscheppe-Eselböck — daughter of a 2 Michelin star Austrian restaurant owner — the estate has become one of the most respected natural wine producers in Austria and one of the most recognizable wine labels in the world: each wine is named for a character in an extended family, with a distinctive illustrated portrait. Theodora is the young daughter.
Tasting Notes
Light-footedness meets rounded perfection. High-toned flavors of fresh lemon, lemon balm, and underripe Bartlett pear, creating a refreshing, clean, and sprightly sensation on the palate. Theodora is Gut Oggau’s most accessible wine — immediately delightful, effortlessly elegant, and very easy to want more of.
How to Serve
Serve cold at 8–10°C. An excellent aperitif and versatile food wine.
Food Pairing
Grilled fish, seafood, Austrian classics (Wiener Schnitzel, Tafelspitz), fresh cheese, light salads. A wine for almost anything.
