Garalis Retsina Rosé
Garalis Retsina Rosé is a highly distinctive, naturally vinified traditional appellation wine produced by Manolis Garalis on the volcanic island of Lemnos in the northern Aegean Sea, Greece.
This bottling represents a creative, low-intervention evolution of classic Greek retsina by presenting it as a skin-contact rosé co-ferment. The certified organic fruit is handpicked and fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. During the fermentation process, high-quality, fresh resin from Aleppo pine trees, sourced from the virgin forests of Halkidiki, is added directly to the must. This infusion gives the wine its iconic resinous lift, which blends seamlessly with the volcanic minerality of Lemnos. The resulting profile is wonderfully complex and unconventional, showing notes of sour cherries, citrus peel, wild thyme, rosemary, and mint, anchored by a unique, savory, soy sauce-like salty umami character.
