Distillerie Cazottes Rackham VDF Red

Distillerie Cazottes Rackham is a captivating natural red wine produced by Laurent Cazottes in the Tarn region of Southwest France. Laurent is an artisan famous primarily for his exceptional Eaux-de-Vie, and he brings that same meticulous, fruit-focused precision to his winemaking. It is made from 100% Jurançon Noir (also known locally as Folle Noire). This is an increasingly rare, heirloom grape variety that is a genetic cross between Folle Blanche and Malbec (Côt). It is known for producing wines with deep color but surprisingly light alcohol and high aromatics. Despite its dark, inky appearance in the glass, Rackham is remarkably "slim" and fluid. It is crafted in a Vin de Soif (wine for thirst) style—highly drinkable, fresh, and lean, with very fine, soft tannins. The palate is a burst of tart red and black fruits. You will find layers of blackberry and spice, supported by a mineral iron-like finish. It is often described as "pure fruit juice" due to the low-intervention winemaking.
