Dimakopoulos Koritsanos The Black
Dimakopoulos Koritsanos The Black is a captivating, deeply expressive natural red wine produced by Giorgos Dimakopoulos and his spouse, Varvara Spiliotopoulou, in the Vasiliko area of Achaia, located within the Peloponnese region of Greece.
The winery is dedicated to reviving ancient, hyper-local Greek field-blend traditions and rare native grape varieties using certified organic farming. Crafted from semi-mountainous vineyards planted at an altitude of roughly 130 meters, this wine undergoes an incredibly low-intervention vinification process: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts for 15 to 20 days, followed by an eight-month aging cycle exclusively in stainless steel tanks to preserve its raw fruit purity. It is bottled completely unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur, yielding a rustic, lively character that shows fresh notes of sour cherries, mulberries, wild sage, and distinct earthy undertones.
