Loire Valley Chenin Blanc pét-nat from Clos de L’Epinay — among the finest expressions of the style available. Chenin Blanc is the Loire’s great white grape: naturally high in acidity, naturally expressive, and genuinely age-worthy in a way that no other white variety is. Pétillant naturel (pét-nat) captures the wine in mid-fermentation and bottles it, producing a light sparkle and a wine of distinctive character that the more controlled méthode champenoise cannot reproduce.
Tasting Notes
Plump yet vivacious. Bright citrus with a toasty backbone and the specific Chenin Blanc character of everlasting acidity that keeps the wine alive and energetic from first glass to last. Lightly fizzy, dry, and impossible not to go back to. One of the better pét-nats in any price range.
How to Serve
Serve cold at 7–10°C. Open without disgorgement — the sediment is natural and harmless. An excellent aperitif.
