The 2010 Château de Fonsalette Côtes-du-Rhône Réservé is a benchmark Southern Rhône red produced by Emmanuel Reynaud of the legendary Château Rayas. Though technically classified under the humble Côtes-du-Rhône AOC, it punches well above its regional appellation in complexity, longevity, and collectability.

2010 is widely considered a landmark, legendary vintage across the Rhône Valley. It yielded exceptional structure, vibrant acidity, and intense aromatic complexity.

The nose is highly aromatic with notes of crushed raspberry, kirsch, blood orange, incense, dried lavender, and signature Reynaud pepper/garrigue spices. The palate is deeper, broader, and meatier than lighter vintages, showcasing dark fruit, truffle, leather, and cocoa alongside sweet Grenache fruit. It retains remarkable freshness and lift despite its power.
