Named for Erekle II — the 18th century King of Kartli and Kakheti who unified eastern Georgia and signed the treaty that brought Georgia under Russian protection. Casreli’s Erekle’s Wine is made in the ancient tradition: indigenous Georgian varieties fermented and aged in qvevri — the buried terracotta vessels that Georgia has been using for wine production for 8,000 years, now UNESCO-listed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Tasting Notes

Beautiful amber-orange colour. Almonds, dried stone fruit, orange peel, and butterscotch on the nose. Deep fruit and great tannins on the palate — the grip and structure that skin-contact fermentation in qvevri produces is unlike any other method. Long, complex, and genuinely ancient in character.

How to Serve

Serve at 14–16°C. Open 30 minutes before serving. A wine for slow, curious drinking.
