Casreli, Erekle's Wine, Qvevri Dry Amber, Kakheti 2021

Started in 2017 by a group of friends working in the medical community, Casreli is a winery dedicated to the traditions of Georgian wine. This is one of their orange (amber) wines aged in the ground-burried Qvevri (clay vessel). It has a nose of almonds with a filtering aroma of orange peel and a hint of butterscotch. The palate is well balance but rich with deep fruit, great tannins, and excellent depth. It’s a wine you could sip on its own or enjoy with a feast.
