Casereli Saperavi 2020

Marani Casreli is an organic vineyard in Kakhati, a project of five physicians who are dedicated to all natural winemaking with no cultured yeasts, no filtering and no use of stabilizers.

The wine is made according to traditional Georgian methods where the grapes are hand picked and fermented in Qvevri (ground-burried clay vessles), then matured with skins and bottled unfiltered and unfined. Saperavi is the staple red grape of Georgia, resulting in a deep dark and very aromatic red wine with a fruity aftertaste and lively acidity. Hints of blackcurrants and red cherries can be recognized, as well as subtle notes of vanilla.
