Ribera del Duero sits on Spain’s high central plateau at 800–900 metres altitude — extreme temperatures that produce Tempranillo of remarkable concentration and structure. Bodegas Valduero makes this Reserva from the high-altitude Tierra Alta zone: old vines, extended maceration, and the minimum Reserva aging that Ribera del Duero’s rules require, producing a wine that shows the variety at its most serious.
Tasting Notes
Deep garnet with ripe black fruit — black cherry, plum, and cassis — alongside vanilla, tobacco, and the warm spice of oak aging. Velvety tannins and a long, powerful finish. A Reserva that is drinking beautifully now after several years of bottle development, and will continue to develop for years more.
How to Serve
Decant for 30–45 minutes. Serve at 17–18°C.
Food Pairing
Roast lamb, suckling pig, venison, aged Manchego. Spanish red meat cookery at its most celebratory.
