Piližota Babic Reserva 2018
Babić is an indigenous red grape variety grown mostly in Dalmatia, which produces dark, dense and complex wines. The Piližota family brought exceptional quality back to the Babić varietal creating the traditional expression of the wine as it should be! The vineyards are in Primošten, Croatia, the location so stunning, it's being considered as a UNESCO World Heritage site! Babic reserve is made from the finest hand-harvested grapes that macerate on the skin for 10 days and then the wine is aged in large used Slavonian oak barrels of 600 liters for 12-18 months and coarsely filtered. The result is a full body juicy red wine offering unique earthiness with layers of complexity beginning with warm, sweet pumpkin spices, followed by deep, dark fruit, dark plums, rich figs, tobacco notes, and dried herbs.
