Anne Pichon "Sauvage" Syrah/Grenache AOC Ventoux

Sale price$22.00

Grapes Syrah, Grenache
Producer Anne Pichon
Appellation AOC Ventoux, Rhône Valley, France
Farming Natural, organic
Style Medium-bodied red, Rhône character

Sauvage — wild — is exactly right for this Syrah and Grenache blend from the slopes of Mont Ventoux in the southern Rhône. The Ventoux appellation sits between the more famous appellations of the southern Rhône and tends to be overlooked — which means excellent value for wines made with genuine care. Anne Pichon farms organically and makes wine naturally, without the industrial intervention that characterises much southern Rhône production.

Tasting Notes

Dark berry fruit, pepper, dried herbs, and the earthy, garrigue quality that defines the best southern Rhône reds. Medium-bodied with good structure and the freshness that comes from natural winemaking. Genuinely versatile and honest.

How to Serve

Serve at 16–17°C. No decanting needed. The wine for the table, not the occasion.

Food Pairing

Grilled lamb, tapenade, herbed roast chicken, ratatouille, aged goat cheese. The food of Provence and the Rhône Valley.
